What's My Story?
I am a husband and father first—my family is at the center of everything I do. I value the fleeting, heartfelt moments that define life, knowing how quickly they pass and how deeply they matter.
As a photographer, my passion lies in capturing authenticity—whether in the raw beauty of surfing and coastal life, or in the quiet power of human emotion. Living by the ocean has shaped my perspective, and photographing surfers, the sea, and the surrounding culture is both a lifestyle and a calling. I also find deep purpose in portraiture—between the smiles and the tears lies the light of a person’s true self. My goal is always to bring that truth to life through the lens.
With nearly two decades of experience, my journey in photography began early. I was fortunate to be raised around film and imagery, learning the fundamentals from my mother, whose own passion sparked my curiosity. A pivotal moment came when my stepmother, Louella, gifted me her full set of professional photography equipment one Christmas—an act of generosity that gave me the foundation to pursue my career when I otherwise could not have afforded to do so.
I received my formal education at the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies at Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, Florida.
In 2014, I founded Halation Magazine LLC, a black-and-white fine art photography publication. Over six years, the magazine achieved national distribution through Books-A-Million and reached readers across the United States and internationally. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult decision to pause publication. While this chapter closed on a bittersweet note, the door remains open for a future revival.
My work has been published in newspapers and magazines around the world, and I continue to submit, create, and evolve—driven by a love for the medium and a commitment to telling stories that endure.
